About

Green Hive Editorial Team

Green Hive Editorial Team is the in-house group of researchers, writers, and editors responsible for the brand reviews, certification assessments, and educational guides published across the platform.

The team's work starts with verification. Before a brand appears in a review or in the directory, its certifications are checked against the certifying body's own public database rather than accepted from marketing copy. Claims about materials, sourcing, and emissions are traced back to primary sources. Where a claim cannot be independently confirmed, the article says so plainly instead of repeating it as fact.

That approach extends to how brands are scored. Green Hive rates each certification against six criteria: difficulty, credibility, core impact, holistic impact, ongoing improvement, and supply chain evaluation. Larger companies are held to stricter standards, because their operations carry a bigger environmental and social footprint. The full methodology is published openly rather than kept internal.

Editorial independence is the constraint the team works within. Green Hive is not affiliated with any certification organization, and reviews cover a brand's weaknesses alongside its strengths, including when that brand is a paying partner. Affiliate relationships do not determine which brands are featured or how they are rated, and sponsored content is always labelled.

The team publishes across Beauty, Cleaning Supplies, Fashion, Food and Drink, Home, Baby and Kids, Health and Wellness, Personal Care, Pet, Outdoor, Office and Stationery, and Technology.

Past experience

The team maintains a directory of 220+ vetted sustainable brands and a certifications database that scores individual standards across four tiers, from Ok to Exceptional.

Alongside the directory, the team produces two main content formats: in-depth brand reviews examining a company's certifications, ingredient or material safety, and environmental impact, and educational guides explaining sustainability concepts and comparing practices. Over 100,000 people have discovered brands through the platform.

Named writers and subject specialists who contribute to Green Hive are listed individually in the Contributors and Experts directory.
